Mission: S2E1: Ponzi Scheme
Location: Roosevelt Station
Timeline: January 26, 2389 - 1900h - MD1

OOC: JP done by Vice Admiral Zachary O'Connell & Brigadier General Katana Leah

Leah was working in her office in her quarters getting some things ready for when they leave the station tomorrow. She needed to get crew placements done so the crew knows where they are going. She also needed to get the away team situated as well. "Sir you have an incoming transmission from a Vice Admiral O'Connell" Commander T'Pai stated over the comm channel. Leah looked up and responded, "Transfer the call to my quarters." Leah responded.

A few moments later her computer chirped and the face of the Admiral appeared on the screen. "Afternoon Admiral what can I do for you?" Leah asked wondering what was up.

Through his vantage point, Zachary could tell that the Colonel was not in her regular office. Zachary, of course, hadn't used an office nearly as much as he did now, so he had a pretty good idea what it was like to work all over a base. "Did I catch you at a bad time, Colonel?"

She looked at him, "no not at all Admiral just decided to do some work in my quarters getting ready for our mission." Leah stated with a warm smile, reassuring him that he wasn't bothering her at all that she welcomed the brief break from her work.

The PADD next to Zachary's hand saved his failing memory, allowing him to remember that Roosevelt Station was rather engaged observing some questionable activity within the Ferengi Alliance. He nearly scoffed. When were the Ferengi not engaged in such profitless activities? "How are our latinum-loving friends?"

She chuckled a moment before she spoke, "Looks like they are doing a doozy over on Risa, some kind of Ponzi Scheme that was going to be setting a trap for." Leah replied shaking her head as she was just as surprised as he probably was. "Trust me, Admiral, I was shocked when I heard the intelligence." She replied as she looked at him as she spoke.

"Those Ferengi will do anything to make a strip," Zachary replied with a sigh. "Just watch yourself out there, General. Ferengi is ruthless in many ways, especially when latinum is concerned."

"Yes, they are," Leah replied the paused for a moment to think of what she just heard him say. "Excuse me, Admiral, did you just say General?" She asked with a perplexed look on her face.

Zach did his best to conceal a surprised expression that would reveal his lapse in judgment. Nevertheless, the cat was already out of the bag. "That's correct, General. I was going to stand on a little more ceremony, but effective immediately, you are advanced in rank to Brigadier General. Welcome to the flag levels."

She was in shock, she didn't know what to say other than "thank you, Admiral." Leah stated as she looked at him she wasn't sure what to think of this new promotion she wasn't expecting it.

"You've earned it General," Zachary congratulated. "Of course this means you have to stay out of trouble for your mission. Can't have a newly minted one-star go disappearing on me."

"I don't plan on disappearing Admiral, well at least not on my own free will that is." She said then chuckled, "and will not go without a fight that's for sure." Leah added with a smile. "Again thank you," Leah added still in shock.

Zachary simply nodded. "See that you don't, General," he stated.

She just nodded, "is there anything else?" Leah asked looking at him.

The Admiral shook his head. "Not unless you have anything to discuss, General."

"Not that I can think of at the moment," Leah stated looking at him.

"Then I wish you good luck," Zachary concluded. "O'Connell out."

She watched as the Admiral disappeared from the screen and just sat there staring at it. She was still trying to wrap her head around it, which meant new uniform and pin which has seemed to appear in the replicator.
